Jonathan Gross

Engineer, Sound Designer

Jonathan’s journey into professional audio began with his five year old fingers on a piano. He performed with honors at local and state events throughout high-school as a solo artist and accompanist. In college he was introduced to jazz and ethnic music as well as his first audio course, which launched him into engineering.

While finishing his Bachelor’s in Audio Engineering at Seattle Pacific University, Jonathan interned at Robert Lang Studios, one of the city’s well known recording studios. In his final year at SPU, he had the privilege of recording the Rainier Symphony and working with a variety of professional artists, including Prince’s former drummer Sheila E.

Upon graduation, Jonathan engineered sessions for local Seattle bands, indie films, and advertisements. He mixed and mastered rock, rap, jazz, pop, RnB and orchestral sessions. Soon thereafter he moved to Southern California to form Mad Monkey Audio with Aaron Wittrock. With a cinematic demo reel and a few laughs they had secured their first FPS game and VR contracts.

Jonathan's days are predominantly spent designing sounds and implementing audio into game engines. The extent of his hobbies include finding good places to eat, walking the SoCal beaches, and yelling "Bad computer!"
